I've noticed this week that I've somehow accidently been listening to loads of new music. Which is weird because I've been mainly listening to albums and trying to choose my music more conciously. I guess in part I've been a little oblivious what with the horrible deadline of my masters project looming over me (all finished now, fear not). That said, lets discuss some new stuff I've been enjoying and perhaps some stuff that is new to me!

First off, one major album that came out recently was HELP (2), a War Child charity record which is a sequel to the original album from 1995. I think if I list a few of the artists on there you will see why I am so excited about this.

I really enjoyed Strangers by Black Country, New Road. It's more of their great sound from Forever Howlong, but leans into a more folky sound I just love their stuff because you can listen over and over, focusing on a different instrument each time. It's so layered and interesting, lovely stuff.

Another track I loved and which I am incredibly biased about (being from yorkshire myself) is the song Parasite it's like a merger of all the most beautiful songs from This Could Be Texas. The longing beautiful tones from Albert Road along with the tones of the title track and lyrical beauty of Sideboob. It makes me feel so much and I've just been listening to it on repeat. I implore you to do the same!

To name a few others that I've enjoyed, I (unlike many others) enjoy the new sound of Artic Monkeys (you just have to forget it's the arctic monkeys), so I've enjoyed Opening Night, I think the cover of Black Boys on Mopeds is haunting and beautiful despite being nothing like Fontaines DC's usual sound, and finally I enjoyed the jazzy sounds of Helicopters with Ezra Collective and Greentea Peng. If you have time, it's honestly worth giving everything a listen, but I've picked a few particularly juicy fruits just for you to try :)

Something I am surprised I have not written about recently (literally had to check I didn't write about it), is Sisters with Me. I originally saw the music video which I found super charming and sweet, but the song is so beautiful in of itself and has been on repeat for me for so long.

My song of the week -- I fear due to bias, but isn't that what this is about anyway ;):
